Revamping your style is a little different then finding your style. Unless you are at the point where you want to simply reinvent your style then you would start the style discovery process over. In this blog post, I’m going to be showing you some simple ways that you can completely revamp your personal style.
Once you are done revamping your style you are probably going to want to start rebuilding your wardrobe. And if that’s the case, I recommend this blogpost here to help you.
Refresh Your Style Goals
Have you created style goals before? If not I highly suggest that you do. Your style goals are going to help you shop with intention, vision & purpose. But not only that, style goals will also help you to show up confidently in all areas of your life.
Your style goals should always be in complete alignment with your personal life goals. If you have not created your style goals yet refer to this blog post here
Determine How You Want To Look
Determining how you want to look is key when it comes to revamping your style. You can do this by using Style Archetypes, or by creating your own archetype that is related to your style specifications. I suggest going into detail about how you want to look.
This could look like asking yourself questions such as:
How do I want to look when I am running errands?
What clothing items would help me to achieve this look?
Do I have these types of items in my closet already?
How do I want to look when I am at work?
What clothing items would help me to achieve this look?
Do I have these types of items in my closet already?
Search For Outfit Inspiration
Once you have created your style goals, you can start by searching for outfit ideas that align with your personal style and style goals. When searching for outfit ideas, you want to search for inspiration based on items that you already own. This will make your process more efficient.
I recommend using sites such as Pinterest to help you out. I also recommend grabbing a copy of our yearly outfit guide.
The outfit guide includes 365 outfit ideas for every day, every occasion & every season. Our outfit guides are stylish and trendy, so if you fall into those two categories and need a clear path of putting outfits together without always using Pinterest.

How To Turn Old Clothes Into Cute Clothes
Whenever I’m ready to revamp my personal style, it’s more than likely because I am always wearing the same few clothing items in the same exact way. This is where you want to get creative and why searching for outfit idea inspiration will come in handy to you.
I recommend coming up with at least 3 new ways to style your core items in your closet. This is especially great if you are on a tight budget. As you are repurposing your old clothing items, I recommend making a list of new items that you can add to your closet to accommodate the outfits you styled.
Introduce New Items Into Your Closet
When you are repurposing your old clothes you will notice small gaps in your wardrobe. You may realize that your closet has no color, so you can begin shopping for statement pieces that have pops of colors.
This is also a good time to refresh your accessories and invest in good quality accessories that will last over time.
Create A Outfit Formula
Have you heard of an outfit formula? An outfit formula is a type of equation that helps you to put outfits together using the exact same item. For example, if you love to wear blazers, then instead of reinventing the wheel you would simply wear your blazers in the exact same way.
Copy Fashion Trends
Don’t be afraid to copy the latest trends, how would you know if a certain style looks good on you or not if you have never given it a try. Remember trends aren’t something that’s consistent. This is all about having fun in your closet and not being conditioned to do and wear the same boring things. The best part about playing with trends is that you can stop at any given time.
Some ways to make this work is by:
recreating outfits from your favorite bloggers
recreate outfits from your favorite celebrities
recreate outfits from Pinterest
recreate outfits from fashion magazines.
Most importantly don’t be afraid to take a risk and experiment!
Find Your Style Muse
Your style muse is going to be your go-to girl or boy that you grab style inspiration from. They may already have a few style similarities to you, this could be similar body shape, similar clothing items, etc. This will help you simplify how you find your outfit inspiration.
Refresh Your Makeup Routine
You can also try refreshing your makeup routine. Try a new lipstick or even shop for new makeup products. Sometimes it’s truly the simple things. For this, I recommend going to a makeup counter and allowing them to introduce new products to you. This is especially great if you aren’t really good at makeup.
Make Tiny Tweaks To Your Outfit
The Third Piece Rule
The third piece rule is simple when you add a third item to your outfit to complete the look. In most cases, this is what many women fail to do when it comes to their outfits. So instead of wearing a basic t-shirt and jeans, you add a cardigan, flannel, or kimono to complete that look.
Create a color palette
I think adding a color palette to your wardrobe is such an amazing idea for many reasons! For example, it saves you time when getting dressed in the morning, it helps you to put outfits together easily and it also helps you
Try The SFTIT Method
The (SFTIT) was created by me and it’s what I recommended to my members at *Her Style On-Demand* it’s simply when you Shop For This Instead Of That. What I see is that many shops for the exact same items. For example, if you love graphic t-shirts but you find that you completely lack new ways to style them. That’s probably because you have too many of the same thing. So Instead shop for more accessories instead of more graphic T-shirts.
Or let’s say you love basic t-shirts, but you are running out of stylish ways to wear them. Then instead of shopping for more basic t-shirts. Shop for basic t-shirts with some fun detail. Such as smock t-shirts, or puff sleeve t-shirts.
